You Gotta Have Faith
‘You’ve got to have faith. Just a little faith. And you can make it.’
The beautiful words of gospel singer Yolanda Adams.
Faith is a true resource. An extra and safe pair of hands. A friend indeed when we are in need.
It lifts us up in times of trouble. Gives us succour when much seems lost and uncertain. Calms us. Reassures us. Mends wounds and broken hearts.
Yet faith isn’t only a religious preserve.
Faith is far greater than that. An omnipresent force available to all. From prince to pauper. Young or old. Sick or healthy. Beyond creed, colour or status.
An ultimate global power.
Do you have faith?
Where is your faith?
How does your faith work?
Perhaps like these…
Faith in Life
The world is a good place. A glorious place. A wonderous place. Bar specific pockets the whole globe is living in peace. People get along, trade, meet, travel and visit, communicate, respect and connect with each other. Life is full of opportunity, adventures, bliss and beauty. Everyday offers a ray of new hope in this beautiful home called Earth. There are plenty of signs that life is still wonderful.
Have faith that this will never change
Faith in Yourself
Whatever may have come your way you have dealt with it. You have made it this far. In life’s ups and downs you have won through. You have the skills and capabilities plus the strengths to make it through anything life has thrown at you. But have faith too that, anytime soon, this may change and that all you have been required to show and prove of yourself may lead to the best times you have ever had.
Have faith that you are enough
Faith in the Future.
Never fear that events will repeat themselves. Look at today’s date. It has never existed before. Just like all the stories and situations that come with it. A fresh day dawns. And in your life also. What has been has been and gone. Today is the day. The future promises much. Have faith in that future and all the amazing surprises that await you. Faith isn’t blind. It looks to the horizon and welcomes the sunrise.
Have faith in all to come
Faith in Love
It’s true. Love is all around. See this. Really see this in action. In the couples holding hands or kissing. In families committed to each other with parents loving their children and each other. In friends laughing as they spend time together. In people as they love the things they do and the life they have. In those who take pride in their work, the love in their hands. In pets and animals as they show their joy at being alive. Witness this love in all forms. Each and every day in every place in every country in every moment love is forever present.
Have faith that love will never ever die
And of course..
Faith in Worship
For many a God is a partner in their life. A permanent companion sharing their experiences. A divine guardian watching over them. An ultimate friend through trial and tribulation. There when tears are shed in happiness or heartbreak. This relationship is felt with gratitude and revered in worship and praise. A faith so strong it lasts a lifetime. Have faith in the holy and sacred. Trust in a God and with faith that your prayers and fears are being heard and that you are never deserted and not alone. And worship that this is so.
Have faith that your God is always with you
Faith works miracles. Turns things around. Makes the unbearable bearable. It can be left to solve problems on its own bringing back the perfect answer. Or help you move on liberated in life. It repays itself many times over.
As Luke Skywalker was told to let ‘the force be with you’ and have faith. You could be him. Employ that same trust. Use that force.
Have faith in faith itself.

Hi John
So beautifully written and so true, faith is the one prop that never moves away and lets us down, it does turn things around you just have to have faith.
A perfect read over breakfast to start the day,
Thank you.
Marion
Hi Marion, welcome to my real simple world. Glad you loved the blog on having faith. I agree wholeheartedly that faith never moves away or lets us down. It’s us that move away from it and forget it’s always there. Bless you for your simple words honestly shared.
I was raised in a religious background, and when I moved away from that, it took me a long time to realize that I actually am a woman of great faith at my core. I had to examine and let go of a lot of mental concepts before I could experience faith in it’s pure form.
Faith to the core is a wonderful description Jean. It defines how the need for faith somewhere within us is best never denied. Faith weathers storms and sees love at every turn and who could ever do without that?
Faith is the reason I am where I am today. But I do see faith as a gift sometimes and not always something we can just cultivate on our own.
There have been moments in my life of great faith and little faith (and, of course, those times of no faith, let’s be honest). But I take comfort in the fact that all I need is a mustard-seed size of faith, and that can be just enough.
Carla , you never lost the faith in faith and when you most needed it, that repaid you. No matter how small or what version, faith is a life saver.
Simply beautiful.
thank you for writing this – it’s true, it’s inspiring, it’s a great reminder to be in touch with faith
I can only reply, ‘Thank You’ for your touching and supportive words Aileen. Please take my blessings and gratitude.
John,
Very well put post! I like how you said the faith was not just a religious “preserve”. This is a good! When you mention faith, people automatically ASSume that you are referencing a particular religion or entity. Faith covers the entire board. Your article eloquently displays such.
Thanks for sharing!
- Ali
Hi Ali, welcome to my simple blog. Faith is faith in all its variety. Yes the religious one has been most noticed and used but faith at all levels keeps us alive and going when much appears difficult. To me it matters not what faith you have just that you have some. I agree with your lovely words, “faith covers the entire board”. Couldn’t have put it better myself. Bless you!
John: What an amazingly beautiful post. Thank you for sharing it. There really is nothing more profound and powerful than faith. I think it is one of our biggest challenges to be able to have faith, even when it seems issues or things arise that challenge our faith. However, it really is all about faith … I couldn’t agree more. You stated it so well.
Sibyl your words always have a warmth to them. Nothing more profound and powerful than faith you say. Beautifully true. Faith can be a challenge but the greatest challenge is to let go of it from your life entirely. Every life will need faith one day. It will be a lifelong ally.
hey John,
Thank you for writing this. These words have only reinforced what I have been saying to myself when the going gets tough….
soumya
Soumya, my pleasure to welcome you. There is always faith and always in many varieties. So when troubles come calling now, turn to faith as a friend and leave those troubles firmly at the door. Blessings.
Very nice words John, i would love to read part 2 with the title how to increase faith
keep it up
