  1. This truly is the best advice we could receive. It reminds me of the quote (I forget who said it) to be you because everyone else is already taken.

  2. Hey John,

Lots of great wisdom wrapped up in those two litte words. It’s often the simplest message that gets lost as we try to complicate our lives with so much rubbish. Back to basics. Back to who you really are. Great advice.

  3. I love what Jean shared above — Be You, because everyone else is taken! The trick is in stripping away the years of being what others expected you to be and a lifetime of pretending to be someone you were not to find out just who you really are! And then to actively decide — with every step, every word and every decision — to go forward as you, your authentic self. Totally worth the journey. Thanks!

    • Very true Maggie, being ourself takes letting go of a person others have made us, expect us, controlled or try to keep hold of. At first it’s a bit unnerving but like everyone coming out of a long imprisonment the new world seems scary. Until you realise you are 100% free, then it’s all systems go!

  4. a simply POWERFUL post, John. :)

  5. Not much to add to that, John! It is one of the greatest challenges we face: being YOU when the world-voice wants us to be anything but.

    • Maybe life’s ultimate challenge Rob? We think it’s climbing mountains, trekking deserts, and conquering space but the real, life-changing journey is inside to visit the uncharted territory that is our own genius sleeping. Never mind 101 things to do before you die – do 1 great thing NOW while you are alive! Be you.

  6. OK!

    Seriously, good post John:-).

  7. I couldn’t agree more. And, fortunately, the older I get the more I seem to become me.

  9. Hi
This is simply and beautifully put. You have a way with words that are simple and powerful. I love it.

I’m me…God walking, talking and breathing me. Thanks for reminding me that I have permission to be me;)
